Day 8 of Miracle Morning

My cat has been a terrible #&@$ this morning. Woke me up repeatedly from 4.30. So I barely got any more sleep until my alarm went off at 6.

For a second I even thought of starting my morning ritual earlier but then crawled back to bed to wait for the alarm.

I think the habit is kicking in. If you’ve read the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg you know that for a habit to form, 3 things need to be present:

  1. Cue
  2. Routine
  3. Reward

My cue for morning routine is the alarm that goes off at 6 am. If the alarm hasn’t sounded or time is not yet 6 am then I need willpower to convince myself.

That’s what I realized on myself first hand this morning:

If the cue is not there it will take a lot more effort to start the routine.
